I was so excited to photograph Marissa & Bruce’s Vermont engagement session. I have never had the chance to go that far North, the farthest I have ever visited was Connecticut. The best part is knowing I get to come back next year and check out more in the state. The best part of this session that really set it apart from all others was the location, Burklyn Mansion. This mansion is located in their home town and plays such a large part in their history. Marissa’s parents used to live in the home as caregivers and they were actually married right there on the lawn in front of the mansion! Upon arriving Marissa had announced that her super amazing, yet forgetful fiance, forgot his nice pants! We cracked some jokes about “men” and her parents gave me a tour of the mansion itself. Walking through such a historic building was breathtaking. The weather was perfect for us and the evening could not have been better. Marissa looked so gorgeous and came prepared in so many ways! Her hair was beautifully done and they brought outfit changes! I love when my clients go through all the trouble to customize their sessions to fit their identities. It is great to look at a set of images from a session and see their personalities come through them! I can’t wait to go back next year to photograph their wedding. Vermont has such beautiful colors and makes a gorgeous back drop for any session. Talk about amazing!
Looking forward to their wedding at the Essex Resort & Spa in 2017!
