Dance Like No One Is Watching
Rock The Shot August Photo Challenge
While on a recent destination session trip to Las Vegas, I got to share some moments with my children. We spent two weeks in Las Vegas and while walking the grounds of the J.W Marriot my daughter decided to dance to the music playing. I had just happened to of had my camera with me, because I finished a shoot earlier. I think as photographers we tend to sigh at the thought of busting out the “big” camera for our personal families. I know I personally am so picky about what they are wearing and where we photograph. I tend to drive them nuts.
My daughter is the typical shy little girl, as you can see there is absolutely no one around her. I sat down quietly on the bench and proceeded to pretend like I was not photographing anything. You can see this by the way the image is not anywhere near straight. I considered fixing it, but then that would lose the idea of how she literally thought no one was watching. So in the essence I got to capture her little Dance Like No One Is Watching moment. I love the way the sun is coming down and just how comfortable she is in pajamas and flip flops.
I decided on black and white for the photo, because I felt like in color she was lost in the surroundings. I love being a destination photographer and being able to have my children accompany me on these type of locations. I get the chance to not only capture amazing memories for my clients, but for my children as well.
